Max Ricci was an amazing little Schnoodle, and I was so very lucky to have him as a friend.
Max loved Leashes at Lauritzen with his Mom
Max passed away yesterday at the age of sixteen.
Heart on the IV catheter bandage when Max was hospitalized recently - It is a secret message from us to Max letting him know we love him.
I met Max when his Mom first adopted him some years ago, and it was love at first sight. For me. Max was still deciding. But he had let me snuggle him more lately, and that was something.
Back in the day
Max was better at side eye than any cat I know.
Also, while cats are GREAT at thriving with chronic kidney disease with concurrent issues, dogs do not tend to fare as well with chronic kidney disease, and even less so with concurrent issues. Sorry cats, but Max was EVEN BETTER at it than you are. I’ve never seen his equal. Max, you are amazing, and we are all going to miss you terribly.
Max during his recent hospital stay, His friend Kelani kept adding blankets till he said he could rest comfortably. I called him the Princess of The Princess and the Pea :)
We all truly needed Max to live forever, and honestly, when older pets thrive, we often get lulled into believing in their immortality. Dammit. What an effort though kiddo.
Kelani brought Max to our holiday party! He had a fine time.
Max, I love you so much, and any time I got to see you and your Mom, it was my favorite day.
I am grateful you found your Mom when you did and got to live such an amazing season together.
Snuggles with Mom <3
I am grateful time stopped yesterday (Time NEVER stops at Westgate), and that your friends got to say our good byes.
I am grateful you got to leave peacefully with grace, surrounded by love, in your Mom’s arms and with your Grandma by your side.
In this fallen world, it is, I suppose, the best we can hope, and yet I am still so very sad, and my heart aches for your Mom who misses you terribly.
Marja, I am so glad you and Max found each other. What a great pair.
We love you so much Max Ricci.
