I met Emily several years ago when she started her veterinary career at Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital where I was a veterinarian.

I loved Emily from the day I met her. And I loved her little white dogs who needed to be one foot from her or less. And I loved her family.

Emily lit up every room she was in. She made everyone around her happier.

I loved working alongside Emily and watching her absolutely thrive as a new veterinary assistant and later in her career at Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center, a perfect setting for her amazing skills and optimism and compassion for every patient and the people around her.

Emily passed away this past week of leukemia at 27 years of age. She was newly and so happily married and surrounded by the most wonderful family and friends.

Funeral services are this morning at 10 am.

Emily attracted and enhanced the best in everyone. We are all gut punched.

I cannot wrap my head around such a beautiful life and spirit being gone at the very beginning of such an amazing and happy life.

We are all at a loss and so very sad my Friend. You made everything around you brighter. I missed practicing with you, but it was so rewarding to see you forge ahead fearlessly to follow your passions personally and professionally.

Our family is praying for your husband and parents and siblings and the rest of your family and dear friends.

Emily, I am so very fortunate to have crossed paths with you, and I was so very blessed to call you my friend.

Love you.
