Deb and I became friends.
For a few years, I worked mainly at the 89th and Grant location. My second favorite part of that was this cabinet.
Every season, we would decorate it, and Christmas was my favorite season to decorate the cabinet.
Oh! My first favorite thing about the location was the people there of course! *is* :)
I loved having all these patient and personal pet pictures too!
I imagined coworkers looking for something and opening this cabinet and being totally surprised :) This probably never happened because everyone helped me with it and I showed everyone who visited!
My friend Jana has a wonderful blog, Dawg Business: It's Your Dog's Health! She and her husband have had wonderful, beautiful Rottweilers. Pictured is her dog Cookie.
Jana's Cookie does not think the grass is greener on the other side. With her red-green color blindness, the grass is always brown...and awesome.
Pyro was recently in for his neuter surgery. He was very brave.

No matter the species, we intuitively recognize reward-based training as more humane than punishment-based training.
Happy birthday Joy!
Oh Poodles!
Cane Drews is the five year old German Shepherd of my friend Laura Drews and her family.
I love this picture of him so much!
Cane is Schutzhund trained and knows German, English and hand signals.
Cane goes on walks with Laura constantly and assists with Laura’s Citizen Patrol duties.
Good boy Cane!
And excellent Frisbee catch!
How are female leaders in veterinary medicine perceived compared to their male counterparts?
The family's third and final Labrador came in for his wellness care a few weeks later.
Their other older Lab had been swimming and playing most of the day and was now unable to walk.
A lifetime of well managed arthritis had finally caught up with him.
Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays!
Me: Why are there no girl socks clean?
Amanda: Socks aren’t gender-specific, Mom.
Me: I need pink socks smaller than Dad’s!
Amanda: Better.

Happy Thanksgiving!
It is one of my best memories from when I was a kid.
I had a sweet cat patient named Finnegan. Finnegan is not past tense! He is just in the incredible care of Dr. Thomassen now, what with my cat allergies and all. I keep this on my board to remind me of him.
WHY do I do that? At least it's not very often!
