Shawn Finch, DVM has wanted to be a Vet ever since she was 8 years old.

Dr. Finch obtained an undergraduate degree from The University of Nebraska at Lincoln and attended Iowa State University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Dr. Finch has been a veterinarian since 1998. She is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and the NVMA (Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association). She is president of The Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine and on the leadership team of The Street Dog Coalition in Omaha, a chapter of an organization that provides wellness care to pets of unhoused community members. She served on the Veterinary Economics Editorial Advisory Board, a branch of dvm360 (now Fetch).

Dr. Finch and her husband Russell have two wonderful grown children, Blue, who is a child care provider and Abby, who is a dog groomer. They are all huge fans of local rescue groups and the Nebraska Humane Society. They have a larger than life amazing Golden named Doug, adopted from Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska (GRRIN) and a super cute puppy named Kevin, a Basset X Beagle recently adopted from Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland.
