A newest All the Things Notebook just dropped!

This is the notebook I use several times during the work day for drug dose charts and other resources. It also has some of my very favorite stickers in it. I update it every couple of years. I love it so much. I need to show you In Real Life so you can see how rainbow it is.

Help me brainstorm making this more useful. I already have it home this weekend to fine tune it. Also, I would like your help with two pages in particular, both at the end of this post - “Positive Reinforcement Trainers in Omaha” and “Positive Reinforcement Based Puppy Classes in Omaha.”

Someday I hope to publish my All the Things Notebook or portions of it. You can always use any of it in any ways that are helpful. Let me know what other resources would be helpful to include.

When we as a pet loving community have the two trainer resource pages complete, I will repost them with a version that can be downloaded. Also, tell me to send you a hard copy of the final lists. Again, even better than these ones because they are in rainbow color.

Thank you Russ and Blue and Dr. Soethout and team for all your help editing!

All the Things Notebook! And most importantly, Stormy <3

Sometimes Blue makes these amazing little drawings, and I keep them forever. This looks just like our Periwinkle Pug. Who knew she would be even cuter post-enucleation?

As much as I love my calculator, charts are easier for me. As great as the original Apoquel chart is, this one takes into consideration if clients want to pay for two tablet sizes. (They do not.)

Charts - more the charts of injectable drugs than oral drugs - eliminate every veterinarian’s ten time dose fear.

This is one of the training resource pages I would like your help with. The text of both is at the end of this post.

I love The American Heartworm Society! You - as A Normal Person - probably want to know if you should give your dogs heartworm prevention every 30 days year round. (Yes.) I want to know ALL the things. Their website has it all.

This was by the computer yesterday! Honestly, part of the reason I brought The All the Things Notebook home this weekend is to add even more stickers :) Thank you Izzy!

Here are the two rough drafts of my updated Omaha area trainer resources. I hand them out to all the families with new puppies and families who could benefit from the help of a trainer, which have been ALL of us at some point. I love our pet loving Omaha community. You ALL have helped our family and my clients and patients SO much, and I am so grateful.

Help me edit, pet lovers. I love that these resources need updating as new amazing pet lovers move into our community! Also, there may be training related services some of these individuals and groups offer that I have missed. Thank you Friends!

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT BASED TRAINERS IN OMAHA

The following is a non-exhaustive list of excellent trainers in our community.

Puppy class is recommended for every puppy between 8-16 weeks of age.

Find a trainer who uses only positive reinforcement-based training.

Positive reinforcement-based training has been proven to be the most effective method of training for short-term and long-term results and will build a stronger bond and makes the training process more fun you and your puppy or dog.

Avoid trainers who use aversive methods including choke chains, pinch collars and shock collars, other punishments and “board and train” facilities.

Positive reinforcement methodology is also very important in choosing groomers, daycares, pet sitters and boarding facilities. Please let me know if you need help finding these services as well.

New excellent training groups and trainers are continually coming into our community. If you know any that are not on this list, please let me know so I can add them!
