Every dog, for his or her seventh birthday, should receive the gift of a wellness exam, wellness blood work and a urinalysis that recurs every 6-12 months. The gift that keeps on giving.
That is what we gifted Dougie anyways.
And cake.
We love you so much Doug Finch!!
It is messing with my head that our slightly grey and ridiculously happy and energetic Golden is officially a senior, so instead of writing about that, I will show you photos we got at Elmwood Park yesterday.
Russ and I take Doug to Elmwood Patk every Saturday that I work to make the day more fun. Saturday work days are ALREADY fun days with some of my very favorite people. And also bagels. But it is a good excuse for a park date with A Cute Guy and Our Cute Dog.

So let’s discuss wellness and preventative care and best practices and how I was just kidding about EVERY dog because every dog is their own person and a unique creation of God with an equally unique ideal health plan.
But first…park pix!
So the ash borers have been BRUTAL in Omaha, and there are few ash trees left in the area. Our front yard tree from my Dad is one of the last ash trees standing. Several ash trees in Elmwood Park died secondary to ash borer infestations and were discarded in this ravine. You can see the new ash saplings growing near by.
Love you all! Thank you for walking with me through the unique experience of knowing Doug Dog and loving him with me and being SO SO patient In Real Life with his um…exuberance/assholery. We ALL love you Dougie!

Doug looks nice with a forest-y backdrop. Doug always looks nice though I think.
The most beautiful outhouse :D
Doug strives to achieve the perfect balance of walking and sniffing.
Best day ever! Again!
