Chapter 4 - In Which I Pet Luna and Cry
Monday, December 11, 2017
Russ and I were reading in bed with the dogs between us. I pet Luna under the chin, and where it was normally smooth, there were several lumps. I teared up. Luna is three years old. I confirmed that what I was feeling were mandibular and facial lymph nodes and felt for her other lymph nodes. Almost all of the lymph nodes that can normally be felt with effort were very easy to find and much larger than normal.
I cried.
Because I can't keep my damn feelings to myself, I had to share my fear with Russ.
My fear is that Luna has lymphoma, cancer of her lymph nodes.
